Bridge Jump & 310K Load: A One-Day Heavy Haul Success
Another precision heavy haul completed by Central Jersey Trucking & Rigging.
In this project, the team was tasked with transporting two massive TAD rolls, each weighing 155,000 pounds, from Biddeford, Maine to Portland, Maine. While the distance may seem manageable, the complexity of the move required detailed planning, coordination, and expert execution from start to finish, all completed within a single day.
Before the haul even began, Central Jersey Trucking & Rigging worked closely with engineers and an electrical contractor to map out a safe and efficient route. Every mile was carefully evaluated to ensure proper clearances, weight distribution, and infrastructure compatibility. One of the most critical challenges involved navigating a bridge crossing that required specialized planning and execution, including “jumping” the bridge to safely distribute the load and protect the structure.
On haul day, the operation was supported by coordinated police escorts, ensuring traffic control and public safety throughout the route. Utilizing specialized heavy haul equipment and trailers designed to handle extreme weights, the team executed the transport with precision and control.
The project highlights not only the physical capabilities required to move oversized loads of this scale, but also the strategic planning and teamwork that happens behind the scenes. From route engineering and logistics coordination to on-the-ground execution, every detail played a role in delivering these TAD rolls safely and efficiently.
